Huawei just announced a new smartphone. There was no actual official announcement or anything actually. They just put it out on their website and people noticed that it was not there before. Huawei has named it Y5 2017. Let’s look at the specs now.

The Huawei Y5 2017 has a 5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen 720p display. On the inside is the Mediatek MT6737T with quad-core CPU with a clock speed of 1.4 GHz. It is running android Marshmallow 6.0 with a EMUI 4.1 skin on top. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Also it has a microSD expansion storage of 128GB. On the back of the device is an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. On the front of the device is a 5MP selfie shooter with an 84 degree capturing angle. So those selfies are going to fit a lot more people.

The Huawei Y5 2017 is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery. Huawei claims that the battery will still have an 80% capacity even after 800 charges. It is a pretty basic mid-range smartphone. Not that exciting. That might be one reason that they did not market broadly. But it does look like a basic but good mid-range smartphone.
