Well it didn’t take long before the success of the Switch showed up on a third party publisher’s bottom line: Ubisoft’s latest earnings report shows that last quarter the Switch accounted for almost as much revenue as the Xbox One, which has been on the market for years.
The Switch accounted for 19% of Ubisoft’s last quarterly revenue, mainly thanks to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom battle. By comparison, the Xbox One accounted for 20% of revenue, despite getting more games from Ubisoft.
What’s just as surprising is that the Switch made more money for Ubisoft than the PC platform, which made up just 15% of revenue for the company during the last quarter.
