DJI is hitting the market with a new drone. It is a smaller device with a more personal experience. They named it the DJI Spark. It is designed to sit on the palm of your hand. Let’s look at the specs.

DJI Spark has a 12 MP camera with mechanical stabilization and a GPS GLONASS sensor. It also has a 3D depth-sensing and vision-position systems. So the system will be able to detect objects and environments all around it for up to 16 and 96 feet of a distance. The camera is great with all the sensors and the software use. The outdoor angles are great and there is motion gesture too. The motion gesture is not only for the flight. But with a random hand movement you can also take an awesome selfie. There are a few shooting modes on this camera. They are QuickShot, Dronie, Circle and Helix.

Now speaking of the motion gesture. It is a great feature. Is a new technology in the drone industry and DJI is taking advantage of it. DJI Spark has motion gestures and it will trace your movement for about 10 feet from you. So Spark will take some awesome selfies for you. But don’t be upset with the distance it covers. There is a companion app and a remote control too. With the remote control you will be able to fly up to 1.3 miles and with the app that you can download on your phone, you can cover a distance of up to 300 feet. Here’s the thing, with the original remote there is no display. It is a complete analog remote. But with the phone and the app there is the digital aspects of it that you can get too. So of course you want the remote to have the old school gaming experience but have the app downloaded on your phone just because.

The DJI Spark has a price tag of $499. You get some choices for colors with sky blue, metal green, alpine white and lava red. As you can see the price tag is a lot less than some other mainstream drones. You can buy them right now from the DJI store free of shipping. Seems like a good buy if you just like goofing around with a drone and like taking cool photos.
