LG electronics is all set to unveil its next flagship Android Phone G6, at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona on February 26, this year. The Korean Multinational company appears to have worked hard on the upcoming G6.
It had earlier been confirmed by LG Display that the G6 will feature a large 5.7- inch display with an unusual aspect ratio of 2:1 with an emphasis on minimal bezels. This new smartphone’s screen-to-bezel ratio is likely to be greater than 90 percent. The G6 also has curved display corners. Rumors say that Xiaomi’s Mi Mix and Samsung’s next, Galaxy S8 are the closest competitors to the new LG phone as an all-screen phone.
According to The Verge, the LG G6 will be made entirely out of glass and metal, unlike the company’s former plastic flagship devices. The phone will also have a 3.5 mm audio jack which is expected to be waterproof as well. Interestingly, the South Korean Company will no longer continue with the removable battery system and instead use a non-removable battery in the upcoming G6.
The G6 device won’t be abandoning all design elements from its predecessor, LG G5. Features like the rear dual camera setup and the center-mounted fingerprint scanner would be inherited by LG’s new product. Based on the leaks, LG G6 will also contain the latest Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM. The device is also said to support Quick Charge 4.0 technology.
The company is also expected to adopt a new ‘heat pipe’ cooling technology to conduct the heat away from the processor, just like used in most of the laptops. The same technique is also said to be deployed by Samsung in its upcoming Galaxy devices.
LG has failed to obtain a meaningful profit from its mobile business for years. The G6 will be more than just a product to LG and the company is hoping to capitalize on the market with its upcoming flagship. Its’ unique features can prove lucky for the company and help it redeem its status in the market.
